The Bike.
The bike I will be riding on my trip has been custom built from by AD Cycles in Horsham, who specialise in building to order.
The core of the bike is a Bronx RX 1000T, which is essentially an unbranded version of the Dawes Galaxy.
I have carbon fibre front forks fitted to make the front end lighter, giving a better weight distribution when I have front panniers fitted.
The tyres I have fitted are the Scwalbe Marathons, which seem to be fairly impenetrable and have a good range, meaning I shouldn’t have to battle with punctures too much.
I also have ‘Profile Jammer GT’ handlebar attachments, giving me an alternative hand position.
You might be able to see I’ve put SPD pedals on. Although the learning curve to using them was fairly steep, they are hugely efficient as you are pulling the pedal round on the upstroke.
